With the support of his mother and Jamaica Autism Support Association co-founder, Kathy Chang, the 14-year-old boy has made tremendous strides despite living with the disorder.
Loop News caught up with Kathy Chang as Kyle attended swimming lessons this week for the second in a series of Autism Awareness Month stories.
“He has overcome a lot of obstacles; he is not a quitter,” said Kathy Chang of her son.
The JASA president said emotional support is crucial for autistic children, adding that it can be very stressful and expensive for parents raising a child with the disorder.
